Electrical Safety Rules (DCRP)

Course Overview

The aim of this course is to explain how the Electrical Safety Rules provide a uniform set of safe work requirements that employees must comply with when working on or near electrical apparatus.

Employees working for DCRP coordinated licensed distributors of electricity in Oman.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

Successful candidates will receive a certificate issued by NTI

Unit 2 - Management of Electrical Hazards
Unit 3 – ESR work on HV Apparatus
Unit 4 – Switching
Unit 5 – Earthing
Unit 6 – ESR Documentation
Unit 7 – Working on Specific Apparatus
Unit 8 - Practical

At the end of the training the candidate will be able to:

Develop an appreciation of hazards associated with electricity, especially at higher voltages.
Be aware of safe working practices when working with electrical systems and apparatus as per Electrical Safety Rules (ESR)
Understand 'WHY' there are ESR and 'HOW' to follow them effectively in different work situations.
