CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector

Course Overview

Welding Inspector is responsible for inspecting and assessing the quality and strength of welds. Their job is to qualify the welders and ensure they are using the correct welding procedures. Welding Inspector should know all codes and standards and control quality, material handling, documentation control, storage, and the issue of welding consumables. Implement quality plan/Inspection and test plan.

The course is designed to upskill the engineering technicians working within their trade discipline or appreciating another, where knowledge and understanding may be required.

The candidate should have minimum three years’ work experience as Welding Inspectors. 

Upon successful completion of the training course, candidates will be awarded • MOHERI attested NTI course completion certificate • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certificate - if the candidates pass the TWI CSWIP 3.1 exam (third party) – Only one attempt will be provided.

By the end of the module the candidate will be able to:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Welding Inspector
  • Identify the different welding processes used in the production welds
  • Identify types of aids to visual inspection
  • Implement the stages when inspection may be required
  • Interpret drawing instructions and symbols to ensure the specifications are met
  • Maintain all reports and documents of inspection of weld, material testing reports
  • Perform material inspection , consumable inspection , equipment inspection
  • Conducts welder approval tests.
