Pumps Basics

Course Overview

The course includes a two hour induction session on the first day to welcome and orientate the candidate, familiarize them with the training centre, health and safety requirements and other important policies and procedures. This is then followed by the technical training for the remainder of the duration stated below and will consist of a combination of classroom and workshop sessions with various assessments throughout. Upon successful completion, the candidates will gain the knowledge and understanding that will go towards enhancing their existing skills to plan and carry out the basic maintenance tasks on pumps.

This training course is designed to upskill the engineering technicians working within their own trade discipline or as an appreciation of another, where knowledge and understanding may be required.

The entry requirements are a positive attitude to learning and clear motivation to study with evidence of an appropriate level of practical ability and skills.

Upon successful completion of the training course, candidates will be awarded a ‘Certificate of attendance’ from NTI and a Ministry of Manpower Accredited Certificate.

By the end of the module the candidate will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding by identifying the most common faults.
  • Describe the parameters to be monitored in service to assure performance.
  • Explain the relevant start-up and shutdown procedures.
Generally, the work that the learners are undertaking on the short-courses can be quite intensive so it is important that they stay focused yet, at the same time, enjoy their experience in the centre.
