Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Course Overview

The programme is a three-year course. The first year is the foundation, where candidates are immersed in subjects like communication skills, soft skills, work ethics, engineering maths and science, as well as technical & practical skills relevant to their chosen field. These subjects will prepare them for more specialised units as they progress to the next year. Year 2 is the Core Specialisation which exposes students to a more specialised field of trade. Year 3 is the Advanced Specialisation which takes students further to their specialised units. Core and specialist units engage them to be more industry-ready or university qualified.

Those with a General Education Certificate who wish to pursue vocational studies.

Candidates looking for admission to the programme must have attained at least a General Education Diploma (Grade 12) from the Sultanate of Oman or its equivalent qualification approved by the Omani MoHERI (Ministry of Higher Education Research and innovation). In all cases, it is required for the candidates to undergo a pre-assessment to establish their current academic level, especially in English, Engineering Mathematics, Science and ICT. It.

Candidates on successful completion of the three-year programme are entitled to a ‘Vocational Diploma” attested by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
