Welding 6G (Training & Assessment)

Course Overview

The course consist of a combination of classroom and workshop sessions with various assessments throughout. This training course is designed to upskill learners/welders to perform pipe welding in 6G position safely and certify on 6G welding position.

The course is designed to upskill the engineering technicians working within their trade discipline or appreciating another, where knowledge and understanding may be required.

The candidate should have minimum 6 months industrial experience in related welding process.

Upon successful completion of the training course, candidates will be awarded • MOHERI attested NTI course completion certificate • Welding License if the candidates pass the final practical assessment (Visual test + RT Test) - Only one attempt will be provided.

By the end of the module the candidate will be able to:

  • Assemble and use welding equipment safely and correctly.
  • Select the correct consumables relating to the different welding processes.
  • Identify joint geometry and basic weld metallurgy.
  • Transmission and communication
  • Perform welding on pipe using SMAW/GTAW as per the given WPS.
  • Identify the defects associated with each welding process.
