Course Overview

This course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills in slinging and signaling operations.

Personnel who are required to act as rigger and banksman

Successful candidates will receive a certificate issued by RTITB

At the end of the training the candidate will be able to:

  • Attach a load to a crane, taking into account its dimensions, material, mass and centre of gravity and communicate with the crane operator to safely lift and move the load from one position to another position and set it down.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of other site operations, pedestrians, hazards in the environment and weather conditions, taking appropriate action to minimize risk and increase efficiency.
  • Discuss the role of lifting plans in crane operations
  • Discuss and perform pre-use inspection of slinging equipment required for operations.
