Course Overview

This course aims to provide delegates with awareness of the H2S hazards and understanding of how to protect themselves and their colleagues against H2S exposure.

All Oil and Gas industry personnel who may need to enter oil and gas process facilities (including well sites) classified as H2S risk areas, as part of their work.

At the end of the training the candidate will be able to:

  • Describe the occupational health effects of exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide and Sulfur Dioxide on the human body
  • List the personal and general safety precautions and personal protective equipment required when working in H₂S designated areas
  • Describe emergency escape procedures that must be followed when a personnel or facility H2S alarm sounds
  • Demonstrate the correct response to a H₂S emergency situation
  • Demonstrate the correct use of Escape RPE in a typical emergency scenario
